Hands-on management. I'm still learning after years of solving problems. It is much better to do things right the first time, then to do things over as second and third time.

There is no better way to appreciate the world and history than to travel. I've traveled extensively for work and pleasure. I've have visited 40 countries and have worked in 14. I enjoy learning and have earned BS & MS in engineering, MBA, and a teaching credential. I also hold a PMP® certificate, a pilot's license (since 18 yrs old) and an amateur radio license (since 13 yrs old).

I believe community service and problem solving is a continuous responsibility. To that end, I have served on numerous planning boards, review boards and community groups. I currently serve on La Jolla PRC, DPR and the LJ Shores Association.

I'm a "recovering triathlete" - I have competed in 4 Ironman Triathlons and have placed in the top 10% of my age group. My fastest marathon is 3:30hrs.... However, I participate in mostly swimming at present: Masters Swimming, Open Water Swimming.
