Don's experience in local property restoration comes from what was once known as the Penwell Mansion just off Main Street in Challis, ID. Locals will remember it as a home, apartments and a doctor’s office, then a home again and now it is an Inn. When Don and Bonnie took it over, they felt a profound urge to restore it to its Victorian-era so that it could be listed as a Historic Place on the National Register of Historic Places. The 10-year adventure blossomed into something deeper, a desire to protect our history and nurture and care for our land and community. In all, they have owned six homes in Challis.

Red Dog Property Services was born out of a deep-seated passion for nature, balance, and the peace a well-maintained rental property or estate can give us. The founders, Don and Bonnie Rowles are fourth generation Challisites. They know Custer County and will treat you like family.

Red Dog Property services offers a modern take on rental property management, an old-fashioned work ethic and a can-do attitude. In addition to property management, Red Dog offers caretaking and maintenance services. You won’t just have a Property Manager, Caretaker or Gardner, you’ll have friends who care about you and your home.
